Some of you may  have seen this model at shows in the north of England. This picture was taken earlier this year along with some of my warship models.

HI Arrow 5. Will try to post more pictures this week end. The model is from Midwest in the US scale is 1/12. I built the kit way back in 1989 still gets lots of attention at model shows.

I can smell the sea and fish from those pictures , thanks for posting them.  Great details Stan, I like the Coke bottles and "mind the step" sign.  Did you know that they race them, both model and full-size ?   I`ve spent many happy days at Rockland in the 1970s watching the Norman Rockwell like scenes in the town.

Hi guys thank you for your comments re the lobster boat. I will try to take some shots to show more detail in the cabin and rear section. It is hard to think this model was built in 1989 it is ageing well.

Wow! Incredible modelling job!

Some boats had the engine in the cabin, which meant that there was no 'engine box' for the crew to trip on, but also meant that the cabin was useless for anything except storage.

Ned

Almost certainly not. All joking aside, the WoodenBoat Forum (WBF) membership is 'weighted' towards people who sail the Gulf of Maine/Bay of Fundy (WoodenBoat magazine is published in the picturesque small town of Brooklin, Maine) and we 'Forumites'  regard the procedures portrayed in 'The Deadliest Catch' as a sort-of running (tragic) joke. The professional merchant seamen (and seawomen; I certainly do not wish to incur the wrath <*< of g.captian.com's 'Catherder') who inhabit the www.gcaptain.com (http://www.gcaptain.com) Forum are even more contemptuous of the 'seamanship' portrayed in 'The Deadliest Catch'.

Ah, well, maybe we'll get a response from somebody who has worked the Deadliest Catch waters; I'm rather familiar with certain nightmarish areas of the western North Atlantic, and I'm sure that other Mayhemers have firsthand knowledge of various 'interesting' waters all over the world. The discussion would be entertaining, but, I fear, not particularly enlightening. :((

I was only remarking tongue in cheek that the skipper looked like him from behind.
I was not endorsing his seamanship or lack of it.
Having spent 25 years in the RN and living in what was home to the two
largest trawler fleets in the world, I have respect for those who fish the worst seas
in bad conditions to supply us with some of the best food on the planet.
Wherever they fish.
