Title: IOM Deck Limitation Mark
Post by: jcarse on April 09, 2006, 12:13:18 pm
I'm nearing completion on a Tony Able design of IOM, I notice from reading through the rules that a Deck Limitation Mark is required.? Can anyone tell me what this is and where it should go?? :-\?

To quote from the IOM rules:-
"The deck limit mark shall be displayed on the centreplane of the hull near to the mast position. It shall be a minimum of 5mm in diameter"
Basically it is a round black mark on the centreline of the deck close to the mast. It is used as the deck reference point when measuring the rig.

I know the topic has been dead for a while, but I am also on the point of getting my 1OM measured and casting around for a suitable 'spot' mark, I tried using a paper - hole puncher on fablon and hey presto, a nice sticky back spot a gnats whisker over the minimum 5mm dia. One word of warning -? carefully empty the hundreds of previous paper spots first otherwise she who shall be obeyed will not be too chuffed with the confetti !!
