there is a car battery charger at Aldi the you can charger 6v and 12 v can you use it on 6v batteries I am going to use on my boat I am doing
-
If you are using lead/acid or lead/gel batteries it is ok, any other types, I would say no. Pete

Not for Gel batteries, the charge rate will be too high, OK for lead acid only.

Car batteries are big tough things that can stand large charge currents. The SLAs that are used in models are not. A proper SLA charger probably costs no more, and, by not having to buy replacement batteries AND the right charger as well, probably a lot less.

I have a small 15w solar panel, that when my batteries are not in use they are connected to, its supposed to keep a car battery topped up, but over a few weeks bring SLA's up to full charge too, the panel just sits near the window in my conservatory - even works on the 70AH disabled scooter traction battery I have.
