I know there are probably as many ways to secure barges to a towboat as there are towboats. What I've been able to discern is that most facing wires come off the barge and go to a kevel or fairlead from a quarter to a third of the way down the towboats guard, then back forward to a turning block and from there to the winch dedicated to that side.
Does anyone have any photo's of different routings of these facing wires?

Umi....just so I understand what's going on here :o
1. Lisstos*s is a pusher tug
2. she is pushing a dumb lighter [fuel barge] Instigator
3. the heavy MDF is being pumped to the larger bulk carrier of unknown name
4. it is good to see that the crew of have Lisstos*s have their priorities right :o

Thank you Umi! That's pretty interesting, especially the slack wire and preventer (from the 01 deck) going to the stern. As for the grill, that one could be dangerous! Ours were always 55 or 30 gal drums cut in half and fastened by brackets to the aft railing. When we got done, we'd lift off the grating, trip a lever, the half-barrel rotated and ashes, and hot coals were dumped in our prop wash. No worries!

They were not grilling when we came by to pick up the agent, and surveyors.
I am sure that the grill isn't operated until they have left the bunker barge at the slip.
