I more interested in what is powering the skip over to the right  :P , and I bet he used the stenna stair lift inside to launch the cruise liner, at least he wont have to find a secluded lake with rights of use issues.

Help them in what way, There is no evidence of anyone actually in trouble there, What would they be able to do if there were.  It all looks pretty calm..

Great looking ship..

Any Members from the Wallasey and or New Brighton or Hoylake Clubs on here today, ?..  I assume your clubs got a battering..

<:(  A couple of the lads were in a 4 x 4 near our lake , & did a video . . .
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1Hqj1dKwDk&feature=youtu.be (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1Hqj1dKwDk&feature=youtu.be)
The lake is straight down this road , to the left ,the water is coming over the main sea defence & breeching the new secondary wall as well , the mini golf course is on the left . . .
real devastation . . .

this is salt water and in everyone rolls brine

cars must suffer

what state the car will be on the dike

nobody here would pass the time watching, we'd all secure factories and houses.

It surprises me a lot {:-{

The area on the video Most houses as far as I am aware hopefully escaped the water, Unfortunately I would imagine some of the shops near the sea front did not escape so well, The Morrisons which keeps getting played on the news was built on the same area as the open water Pool which was damaged nearly 20 years ago (maybe more) They were advised Not to build there but did so anyway..

if you did some reaserch in to the photo. You will find that it is Model wonder land in Hamburg Germany. A team of 9 had been work to stop the build flooding . They lost the battel and the celler flood. so they took a bit of time out to sail on of teh model from the muesum.

Yes , Immediately behind our video , the ground rises VERY steeply , what your looking at is mostly reclaimed land, long long ago . . .
And GAZOU it is an ENGLISH passtime to watch NATURE at work at any opportunity , agree with you about driving a car in that stuff , very bad , but . . . WHEN NATURE SPEAKS WE LISTEN . . .

I understand what Gazou is saying, but I think in this case in the area's effected it was being dealt with..  Now the Fact that I am a Yank , Living in Britain with a French Background I think I cover most bases, I find this weather fascinating and to would have been out there watching (not on the edge mind you), It is Mother Nature at her best saying " Bring it on ", if I want it Back I will Have it....

Correct John,
The photograph (and German text) were released by the plastic model company Revell, on their facebook group pages.

Is it possible that the skip is floating in the dock and the line of bollards marks the edge of the quay? This could be an old dock warehouse.

Well forums are mostly supposed to be fun

And I like our Gazou ... Not always exactly sure what Gazou means sometimes ... But his English is fifty times better than my French. That French footballer got away with talking about seagulls - we all thought 'Well he's French' and that was expected.

So, vive la différence!

Pardon ! Lighten up in what way ? I have no problems Thanks..

If you are referring to my comment about the other clubs, Then If you check my signature you will see that these clubs are quite close to ours, We have a good relationship with the other clubs and regularly attend functions there, also I know that the ponds are not more than 5 meters away from the sea (Hoylake practically in the sea) and as such would have got a good kicking from Mother Nature (as per the you tube link I posted)  8)

Darn it!  I never thought to get my model out during our floods last month - mind you it was only waist-deep in the middle of town, where the kids were swimming off the Siam Commercial Bank's steps.
Perhaps I'll be better prepared for next-year's floods ...

The Long Build.

Please accept my apologies but I had a serious brain phart!
I was looking at Gazou's reply, (among others), then  looked at something else on this same thread and then brain pharted.
It was not meant to insult or upset you by any means.
I hope we can still get along on this site.

Kind regards,

Ron.

No probs..  In fairness I can see where Gazou's post is coming from, and thankfully I have never been affected by a flood and hope never to be.
I have just been reading up on the 1990 storm which took out the old swimming baths at NB,. it really amazes me that we build so close to the sea on what I believe is all reclaimed land from the sea, the bath's lasted 54 years, I wonder if the new Morrison's and other builds will do the same ?.

Hi Larry, Yes mate I can say that the lake in New Brighton got a good pounding from mother nature, at times you could not see the wall surrounding the lake so as far as our next event goes this may well be skip filling event as I would imagine there's a lot of sludge in the bottom if the car park is anything to go by.

See you soon mate. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

Whoever said it was an old dock appears to be right. Or at least it looks like a river burst its banks.
