Title: Pea pod mast?
Post by: Martin (Admin) on June 20, 2007, 08:27:36 pm

Via email to Mayhem.....

Hi,
I built a pea pod in the early seventies with my dad and brother.

He taught me how to scale it down to a 24" model.  It seemed
appropriate since I was the youngest and smallest.  I was eight.

Two boats have come out of the attic recently and I am trying to figure
out mast height and sail size for the 24" and my brothers 36".

Any guidance would be truly appreciated.

If you happen to find some time to google Sarticious Gin that is how I
make a living.

Cheers,

Jeff

Hi,I will stick my neck out! Generally the mast on a Bermudan rig sailing boat is 1.25 X boat length.  So for 24 inch boat, 30 inches.  and for 36 inch boat 45 inches.
Hope this helps Roy
