Hi,
Apologies if this has been asked before but I couldn't see anything. Halfords' rattle cans used to have a minimum temperature for use but it seems not to be on the cans anymore! In the past I've not worried too much about the weather when spraying as I use the garage am warm the cans but looking back it's possibly caused some issues.
Are there any general no nos for spray painting connected to temperature or humidity? I'm keep to get painting my hull but don't want to mess it up due to impatience!
Cheers

Hi phil
low temp is not good as is wet and misty days if you are spraying out side or in a un heated shead/garage.

As above Phil BUT and this is the BIG BUT
I really wish yourself and OTHER Mayhemers would not risk their LIVES by heating up Aerosols by and Way whatsoever it is SO SO DANGEROUS to do so......You are dealing with a pressurised container...........baisically a time bomb...........OK OK stop laughing and thinking Dave is being melodromatic etc etc etc BUT how do you know how far to warm up an Aerosol.............you simply DO NOT know how far you can warm it up..........
Please REFRAIN from doing this STUIPID practise.......Yes others will come on to this and say Dave is talking through his Derrier.......but truthfully I AM NOT .

While you're here young Dad.
Is it correct to say , don't spray when the temperature is under 10 degrees C

As we're in Wales, I don't spray outside in the winter.
Thanks for the confirmation
Merry Christmas to the youngster and parents. 8)

%)...I didn't think that spray cans had been invented in Wales yet........ :P .....Derek
PS....in OZ...we are still waiting for these new fangled things called paint brushes {-).......

Thanks all for your tips. I guess painting will have to wait until spring - still tis an excuse to start the next project. Dave - your warning is heeded.

Bunnings now have them, imported from China, they are now called filament brushes O0 O0 {-) {-)
Why in the world would anyone attempt to heat an aerosol can, DANGER, DANGER %% %% %% %% :o :o :o :o

Just put the spray cans in the house 24 hrs before you want to use them, no risk involved and really helps in winter.

I was watching 'Norm' on the 'the new Yankee Workshop' on TV and saw him use a spray can.
He had an attachment which fitted onto the top of the can which pushed the nozzle down by squeezing the handles. This kept the can vertical and away from the finger tips, which stopped the messy spray going all over his hand.
What a good idea, I thought. I'd like one of those. Do they sell them over here. ??
Any thoughts please ? :}

Thank you Jack. Very much appreciated. I have just ordered it as you can't go wrong for two quid.
That's what Mayhem is all about. :-)) :-))
I'll do a report on it's effectiveness and tell Stavros, our paint expert.
Cheers
