I would love to work on a trawler for my next project. Specifically some trawler that would have been used in the west of Scotland like Mallaig, for instance. I used to visit Mallaig in the 60's when I was a child (and later as an adult) and I remember being enraptured by the various trawlers there. I'm open to suggestions unless it's for a Dean's Marine kit- not happy with the quality of the Amethyst kit of theirs that I'm currently building.
TIA!

Try Bill Wood in Aberdeen 01224 820264 he has hulls of Scottish fishing vessels most like those boats that fished from Mallaig

Thanks lads- much appreciated! I'm not a scratch builder (yet!) so I'm looking for a kit where I wouldn't have to fashion the fittings etc.
I guess I should learn to scratch build- I always end up wanting to do non-mainstream projects. Do you guys know of any good resources on how to scratch build?
Thanks, as always!

BPs kit is highly recommended and when finished you will have an excellent vessel on the water even in rough weather
