Title: Orange transmitter
Post by: 40john on December 19, 2013, 11:25:28 am
Hi All, Just got a new Orange transmitter looks good, feels good, just one gripe, there is no charging socket for N.I.M.H batteries you have to remove them to charge. I once owned a Planet T5 and used to charge it with my Futaba receiver charger with a lead I cobbled up (worked well) Is there anyone out there who has fitted a charging socket to an Orange T6 transmitter? I wait with bated breath.

The reports I hear about the modern breed of TXs is generally along the lines that battery life is very good.  If it uses 8 cells, it might regulate well enough to stand the reduced supply from 8 rechargeable cells rather than using dry alkaline cells.  On 4 cells, it might work OK on rechargeables, but be much happier with alkalines, the resulting extra volt making all the difference.  It might be intended for use with non rechargable cells, especially since no charging socket has been provided.

Hi 40john
Please keep us posted on this product, or if possible do a review
I dont think anyone has done one on this site yet.
it is supposed to be easier to use than the DX6i,
but probably with less range.and maybe not as reliable,
just the color that puts me off, then the price is excellent.
I could always put one in a tx mitt.
