Looking at the Weston UK Marine Engine site I noticed that their range of marine engines have water cooled back plates. See: http://westonuk.co.uk/westonuk2_101.htm (http://)
Anyone come across water cooled back plates before? Any major advantage? Any opinions?

Can't get the link to work on my fone but found the site.
Anyone on here using Wundabond?

Water cooled backplates will improve overall efficiency. The charge through the carb goes via the crankcase & up into the ports. By cooling the backplate you'll increase the charge density increasing the performance. A side benefit is that if the exhaust is that side then you'll reduce the temperature gradient across the cylinder which improves the piston fit & reduces the chances of a hot seize.
