On the 1st Feb 2014 the L.P.M.B.C will be changing it's name to the Jersey Model Boat Club.
We will still be operating from the same venue. Visitors more then welcome. Come up and see our great model harbour and other facilities.

As I understand it, there is already a Jersey Model Boat Club and they use a rather nice large Lake to sail on.
Why change your Club name to theirs?.

The reason for the name change is that Jersey Gold who originally ran there franchise from the site moved a year ago and they where the ones who named it the Lion park as it was set up as a charity to support wildlife overseas, being as we still have full use of the pond and the park and the owners of the land are looking for a new tenant who will probably have their own idea as to what to name the place we thought it was time to change the name of the club to save confusion for the future.
In answer to the other questions raised the other group of model boaters on the island was called Jersey model boats who had the use of a reservoir and we are unsure if they are still running as there website no longer seems to be on line ? also there was no fallout certain members left the club for there own reasons and found another place to use there boats,
Most of these members have since rejoined our club for the facilities that we provide,Clubhouse,toilet,Tea,coffee,permanent harbour,boat lift,slipway,BBQ's and a general good time :-))

I had a great time there two years ago every one was so friendly and will be paying another visit next time am in Jersey.

Trouble is if we had that most of us would end up divorced , Half of us spend most of the summer up the pond as it is we only go home to sleep and change cloths %% %% %%

Hello boys, I am one of the members who started jersey model boats .com back in 2007 and we have been running the site since then. Jersey model boats have the use of La Hague reservoir from the states of Jersey under contract to the Jersey model Boat Club and jerseymodelboats. Our site was out of action for a number of weeks as members know and is up and running again. We have always been running through the winter with fast electrics but not every weekend. As for members moving back to the Lion Park they never left them in the first place they just came to have some fun on another stretch of water for a change. I am not going to start another fallout (as it was put) but we are registered and have a contract with the states of Jersey and Jersey Water works as Jersey model boat club. Things might get a little confusing for members of the Lion Park. If you would like any information on the Jersey model Boat club or, Jersey model boats then please contact me directly through our website jerseymodelboats.com and I will provide the contract for members to have a look at. I think it would have been better to have come to me and talked through things before announcing their name change to ours.

we are not using another clubs name we are the Jersey model boat club the other club which uses photos of our pond and our boats is jersey model boats and is not registered with the states even though they say they are !!!

There is no confusion here !
ask anyone who has visited the island and you will see.
Or better still come on over and see for yourself, You can visit both sites and make your own decision,
I am sure you would be made welcome at both venues
