Hello all,
Today was an awesome day for me on the east coast of Canada! I went to my Grandfather's for the day and you have to take 2 ferries to get there. We got on the first ferry called the "Grand Manan Adventure" and sailed for an Hour and a Half. the whole time I wanted to go up in the Wheelhouse but never had the chance. We drove down the island and got on the next ferry called the "William Frankland". We weren't on the ferry for 30 seconds and the First Mate was waving at me to come up to the wheelhouse. I was so excited! we talked about the Voith system and the engines. The captain got up and told me to get in the chair. I was shocked but I hopped up in the seat and he flipped off the auto pilot and I was sailing it! I couldn't believe it, Myself being 15 years old sailing a 10 million dollar vessel! But all good things have to come to an end and he had to bring it into the wharf. I thanked the First Mate and Captain up and down. So me and my grandfather went about our business and when back to the line up for the ferry lineup. (only a 10 car ferry) We got onto the boat and the first mate told me to come up again. I was back into the seat sailing again. I couldn't believe it but stupid me didn't get him to take a picture of me to show the proof! I'm going down and I'm hoping I can get up in the wheelhouse again and I will have a few pictures. In the mean time I'll just post a couple pics below so you can get an idea of what she's like!
