Scroll down to page 19
F1X4 Special Shapes Strip A: 1/64" x B: 1/8"............... £1.95
By my calculations that equates to 0.4 x 3.2mm
Hope this helps

Most model shops have K & S brass sections that includes flat bar.
Thicknesses from 1/64" upward and widths 1/16" to 2"

Thanks I will have look around on here as the nearest model shop that is in to boats is 200 miles from me-- thanks again--Charlie

Hi wicker
If you look in R&D tugs and working there is a picture of some stanchions I had done at PPD at Lochgilphead . Thy are 3hole stanchions top hole takes a .75 mm wire and the other 2 take a .50 mm wire . Thy have the art work so it could be changed for your job . There is well over a 1000 on a A4sheet.

Thanks to all you good lads for your help- Charlie

I was thinking about material such as this for my stanchions. What is the most practical method for drilling out the holes for the wire - Pin vice? That would be onerous for more than 20 or so. :((

Make a jig and drill them preferably with a pillar drilling machine.
