MAYHEM Is Upon Us
This is a new uncluttered thread for the MAYHEM 2014
1. Where - Wicksteed Park Barton Rd, Kettering, Northamptonshire NN15 6NJ

2. When - 24-25 May 2014. Set up of main site on 23 May.
3. How much will it cost? - FREE, Unfortunately Wicksteed park charge £6 per car per day

5. What is MAYHEM? - MAYHEM is about like minded modellers coming together sailing and displaying their boats.
There will be a few traders. If you wish to sell items please feel free to do so.
6. What will I need to bring? - The whole event is outdoors, so you will need a gazebo and chairs, plus some boats!
REMEMBER MAYHEM IS ABOUT SAILING AND HAVING FUN!

All the usual fun of Mayhem again this year:
We had great weather last year so we've booked same again this year!
There will be Springer events as well as 'Club 500' racing.
There will be a steering course again this year with awards for best and most imaginative rounds!
Phil Steph & Stavros with be running the 'Straight running course again this year, which is also open to RC models too!
( a yacht won the RC round a few years ago! )
Inviting all modellers to join in the Midday Navy Review both Saturday & Sunday.
Free Wind will be provided for all sailors and yachtsmen.
Steve says, if we shout loud enough, he'll bringing along his fun model AFOR!
Sub John says he'll bring his 12 Gato sub along!
Stavros says he's bring Kelley and Mayhem's own baby girl, Catherine!
If you have a model Tank or Truck - you can bring that too!
Lots of room for Traders, Club & Own Model gazebos.
PLEASE BRING OTHER TYPES OF MODELS IE TANKS TRUCKS CARS ETC
UNFORTUNATELY THERE IS NO FLYING OF AIRBORNE MODELS WITHIN THE PARK

is there any one attending the show that could help me out here ....
for me to do a professional "battle display" using pyrotecnics ... ( yes i have had permission to do it at the lake )
if you have anything that resembles a boat . of any kind that i can set on fire please bring it with you .... preferably made out of foam/ polystyrene so i can blow up instead of just setting it on fire that would be great . i am only planning to do this on the Saturday of the weekend . so i can have a few beers sat night and spend all day sunday suffering and sleeping in my tent lol ...
please PM me if you can help me out by bringing a boat or something even if you got a few bits of foam laying around that you could throw together in 5 mins to resemble a boat at a distance .
any help would be greatly received BIGGER THE BETTER

I booked in today. I got a £4.00 discount on my caravan pitch . It works out at £16.00 per night. :-))

Hi everyone
Got it sorted as promised :-))
Bill you might need to contact Wickies again, we have got a £5 discount per night for camping, instead of £20 per night it will be £15 per night. You will need to ring Flo on the Wicksteed Park reception desk and she'll issue you your discount, just mention you are camping with Mayhem.
Due to the uncertainty of the railway running this year the entrance fee will be either £5 per car if the train is not running or £6 if it is. They are not sure if the work to the new bridges will be complete in time for the Mayhem weekend hence why they can't give a discount on entrance.
The campsite is confirmed and will be cordoned off in advance of the early Mayhemers arriving on Thursday afternoon time, and is in the main campsite (with the toilet/shower block) just left of the entrance to the campsite. Just a prior warning you might not be able to walk down the traditional path from the campsite to the model boat lake, that road is currently being relaid.

You'll have to thank Nigel Marriott, he was the one who got the discount confirmed for us, I have just passed the info on to the Mayhemers but we have worked together to sort it all out in time.
