Title: equivalent brushless. motors reqd
Post by: Klunk on April 14, 2014, 08:24:29 pm
I'm building a hovercraft and needed to convert. 2 motors to brushless. With equivalent esc forward only!
Sstandard  motors 540/600 running 150 x 100 standard prop maybe 3bladed. And one running 180 x 100 pusher prop
What's the best combo and where can i purchase them from PST on a budjet and requires outrunnersplus motor mounts etc

Any of the motors designed for a 1:10RC car should do

Depending on the battery and how much power you want

I would suggest either an unsensored 22.5 or 17.5T to replace a std 540 on 7.4v Lipo
As for the ESC I would go for a Helicopter ESC as most of these these offer a soft start option

500/600 motors tend to be around 2-2300kv.

So if you just want a brushless replacement rather than more performance, these should easily do the job-

They have the 3.17mm shaft sizes, but are lighter and smaller than 500 size motors, and a third of the price.

Something like this to power it-
