Title: Bretagne and Barfleur's quay
Post by: midori gaoka on May 05, 2014, 08:58:42 pm
Hello,
My ferries are completed now, but one thing was missing: a quay. The first step was a foot passager berth. I used many plasticard profiles and sheets as well .

Do the poor passengers of your ferry have to climb all those stairs with their heavy luggage?

Excellent stairway to heaven!

Even the life buoys are mounted in place, just if some totally exhausted passenger is getting dizzy because of lack of oxygen from the long ascend and keeling over the rail.

Fortunately, the footbridge has got an elevator. Let's see now, what required me most time(weather): the vehicles access. Both ramps are removable. I can adapt them to the garages of 2 boats. It took me several hours to paint. On the top ramp, each extremity are also removable.

Fortunately, the passenger gate has an elevator.
I already assumed that the main pillar contained two lifts where the stairs are wrapped around helical.
Albeit, with too many slothful passengers waiting for a lift this might lead to jams in the pedestrian flow.
I would propose to port authorities to invest in some additional external escalators.

The last photo of your vehicle ramp, where one can see the arithmetically numbered fingers (are these lane Nos.?) with hydraulic cylinders attached to their lower sides,
is this peered at from the berthing ferry's stern gate?

It would be great to see some photos of the overall arrangement of ship and ramps together.
But probably yet too early while construction or paint works are still under way.

Bonjour,
Each finger on the top ramp, as you can see have got numbers. It's usefull for harbour staff to adjust on the ferry bow or stern. When they know which ferry arrived, the can pull down rhe right fingers. Now, I'm looking for passager figures to complete my diorama. On photos, you will be able to see my two ferries on quay.

Thank you for your comments.
In my diorama, there is a small boat for dockers. The size is 8 cm long. One of my friend is a docker man, and I decided to represent him. He adviced me to add a life jacket to his figure. So I did it
