Martin..........thank you very much for posting that link..............ABSOLUTELY FASCINATING............. and gawd only knows how long it took the compositors to put it together......a lifetimes work.

I found my granddad's old firm of Tweedales and Smalley of castleton, Rochdale almost immediately, and little snippets that he used to talk about his life, like the explosion there, have brought it all to life for me. He was in life a master cabinet maker and a Pattern maker for the company, and also a protected post whilst WW1 was on because of his work in ammunitions..........just amazing site......thank you
