I know of one teenager that is very clued up on it Regiment.
My 18 y/o son, he even surprised me with just how much he knew, but saying that it is one of the very few things he seems interested in.

We were both watching it on tv earlier, he came out with ''it really sends a chill down your spine just thinking how many lives were lost on that day''
It was one of the very few programs  that he's sat and watched, and not annoyingly chatted all the way through  {-)

Some of our Tornadoes pretended to be WW2 reccee aircraft to take pictures of the beaches on Wednesday and then today simulated the ground attack aircraft attacking ground targets. The pictures we saw today is amazing how the towns and villages have changed so much in size but the beaches so little.
Would have given anything to be there today but watched it on the BBC from 6am and at all my tea breaks throughout the day.
Shame to think that the event will soon be out of living memory and left to the next generations like my Dad and then me.

Lest we forget the sacrifices made by those who were there.

I have been to the American Cemetery, above Omaha beach,and witnessed the 7,000 graves there.Also the British Graves at Ranville and Bayeux, over 4,000 there.I came away with a lump in my throat and more than a tear in my eye.
They must never be forgotten,so many and so young.
But they are at peace,all of these graveyards are so peaceful and quiet even with the thousands of visitors, and so beautifully kept.

                          "They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old;
                                       Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.                                                                At the going down of the sun and in the morning                                                                   We will remember them.

Watching a bit of it at work today and I had to have a little laugh, Just after Obama did his bit , there was a fly over of 2 Tornadoes I think, the caption was and 2 Spitfires fly over in Memory, a few minutes later 2 spitfires did fly over and they put the link up again.

Hard to think this was over 70 years ago.
