Title: Help I'm addicted
Post by: kpnuts on June 07, 2014, 04:20:11 pm

Hi Guys was cleaning out my model room the other day and realized I have been totally seduced by the dark side (plastic models) I haven't touched one of my scratch builds since Christmas. here are some pics of the models languishing in limbo hell.

Now I have a problem I really want to get some more done on them but I dont want to force myself as then they will get rushed just to get them out of the way and I don't want that, but at the same time I feel guilty that I have not touch one of them in nearly 5 months (enough time for spiders to start nesting in them errgh nasty things all creepy and crawly yuk) so what do I do I don't feel anything like ready to give the plastic a break but I do want to do feel guilty about my scratchies (ooh I sound like an addict contemplating doing cold turkey) come on I can't be alone there must be others like me how do you deal with it? HELP.

Convert plastic boats to rc!  Use that as s break from the big boats!

Nothing wrong with plastic kits - large size, good detail, the multitude of fittings are included for free! No wood to soak up the water, no fibreglass dust to inhale, photo-etch kits available for mega detailing, only one type of glue needed - what's not to love?   :-)

Good grief. It's a hobby, it's supposed to be FUN.
Go back to them when you feel like it and just enjoy whatever you are doing instead.

Yes thanks all I know it's a hobby but I do feel guilty for not doing them though, boats or ship have always been my love but I find myself making cars, as models the attraction is that plastic kits are so quick to see results .

Not in my experience  %) I have loads to complete and several to refit, most are aircraft and I could do those in the coming months, due to a unfortuanate change in circumstances, though I have 8 full and partially full lever arch files containing drawings to scan into pdf, then a host of ex company drawings to change the name of, so in most cases, time doing other things is the main cause of languishing models, what the centre hull of?

the matchbox is where the generator will be when completed itst just there to help with composition as is the tea van there was a lot of empty space without it I wont be crushing Christine into the loading bay till last cant pluck up the courage to ruin her yet.
