Title: Plastic props
Post by: iantype-r on June 10, 2014, 08:08:32 pm

Hello all,

I'm trying to find a 3 blade 45mm M5 thread plastic prop. I've searched on Google but can only seem to find brass. Can anyone point me in the right direction,

Regards

Ian

My search only comes up with M4 plastic props. Is there a reason you can't use a brass one?

I've been advised to try some different props on my trent. So rather than go buy brass I wanted to try some different bladded plastic, then if it works better I'd buy brass. Strange how they don't do m5 in 45mm

You can get M4 and M5 props as two bladers from 35mm upwards, but I dont know of any small M5 three bladers. Try a shallower pitch 2 blade prop to get an aproximation of performance. The two blade props have a similar pitch to most three blade props available, while the Graupner, Billing or Robbe plastic props are fairly shallow pitch in comparison.
