hi all just a few pics of something I'm making at the mo its a dutch harbour tug that I'm going to make to my own liking hope you all like.

there is no prototype just a sort of damen 1906 of my own making. looks good in my head anyhow ;D hi john the props are only 50mm. i know it is me you talking to but thought i would try a small hull to see if i can fit out with hopefully a powerful set up and one of my bow thrusters I'm close to putting some wires in it so will let you know soon if i have succeeded

I was looking up at a Wyeforce Hull I have and was thinking along those lines too Steve...with the pusher posts?
I dont think we will make it to the Wirral this weekend, its the same day as the Greenock guys do and we have to support them after the support they gave us when Largs fell through.
The guys have been busy though constructing our new new 'Tow'.....will post pics when we have something on the water.
Are those larger schottles any good John? I bought smaller ones for a Jan Meerbeek hull, ok for scale sailing I think but little else, Im going to have to fit low profile servos to them to make them work, but looks increasingly like Im just going to move the hull on for another project...so possible Damen 1906 hull with schottles and bow thruster fitted maybe on offer for swaps.

Hi Billy, Yes the drives work OK Mike Friend as them in is Growler tug.
But you need good servos for them.

The change of date suits us this time ;D
We're looking forward to it and are trying to find out who wants to go, Big Davey from Greenock reckons he's still too wet behind the ears to have a go at a real comp, although were busily tyring to inform him otherwise.
I had a drama with my aft deck the other day, it started to delaminate a little, Ive knifed it and squeezed in some cynao, followed by a plate of litho over the biggest part of deck held down with contact adhesive....what do you guys do about decking etc?
Remember that 'Hood' that was on the dockside at Greenock? We've inherited that as a tow, but I think it will need another plate as fitted to the Balne flower class, we worked on it last night and it should be watertight now, plate and ballast next.

SOME GOOD LOOKING PROJECTS OUT THERE ;D MUST FIND TIME TO START ON THE EURO TUG AGAIN . ARE THOSE 777 S IN YOURS STEVE?

I was looking at the larger schottles in Scoonies the other day John and it appeared to come with its own servo, is that one ok, or is it worth chaging straight off for a heavier duty one?

hi bbste they are 777 got them at the august doo last year they go like stink but start off slow with the right speed cont hope they are the making of a good tug. if not I'm selling it for someting different going to be ruthless with this one no good keeping if not 100% happy with her its a tuff life being a tug owned by me you know. ;D

Hi Billy, The schottel drive units that I use are no2335. 55 pounds each.
I use the Hitec HS 6635 HB these servos do the job for me, when you are
towing and you make a turn with power still on these servos will bring the
unit back to center.
