While looking for something totally different I found the Official Web site for the Pond, seems it is being repaired and improved with better access and re routed paths, better water quality , etc..Work was supposed to have begun in Febuary and take approx 12 weeks. So it should be finished, or not.!! Anyone been there and seen it yet?Can you sail on any day or is it only on Sundays?

I saw that too. I wonder why they call it the "Round Pond" as it isn't actually round.

Back in the 70s I won a competition which entailed guessing how long your model would take to circumnavigate it. In those days you could park for free along the road opposite the Albert Hall!

I remember it when I was a kid...all the men with naval type hats on, they sailed some very nice square riggers,if I remember they used to do pylon racing both flash steam and diesel from a pole in the middle.....tony
