Question 1
In the boat I just bought the ESC red & black battery leads are connected as follows
ESC Red lead -- goes to Red lead on Battery 1
ESC Black lead -- goes to Black lead on Battery 2
The remaining black lead (battery 1) is then connected to the red lead (battery 2)
Does this mean the boat will be running at 7.2v or 14.4v ?
Question 2
I purchased a program card for my Seaking 60amp ESC, made by Hobbywing for boats
Does anyone have any experience of using these Cards.
I want to run the boat as follows:
Forward / Backwards
NimH batteries not lipo
Now there are 4 items on the Card which can be changed, but I dont understand what values to allocate to each to achieve this.
Help please
cheers

Is the programme card you have?
If so you need to set variable 1 to 3 to get Forward & Reverse
There is no specific setting for NiMh rather than LiPo, but setting Variable 3 to 1 will disable low voltage protection.
Hope this helps.

Programming:
Forward and reverse:
Press the button marked ITEM until 1 shows in the item LED box, then press the button marked VALUE until 2 shows in the value LED box, then press the button marked OK.
Disable Low Voltage Cutoff Threshold:
Press the button marked ITEM until 3 shows in the item LED box, then press the button marked VALUE until 1 shows in the value LED box, then press the button marked OK.
You're done.
NB Those are the values for the marine ESC and card, which are slightly different from the card in the post above.

Many many thanks to each and every one of you - things are finally a lot clearer, and yes Barrie that is similar to the card but I have the boat one but it makes sense now

I didn't realise there was a special boat one. I have set up mine using this and it works. :o
