Title: car remote key fobs
Post by: roycv on August 20, 2014, 04:07:46 pm
Hi all, Having had to get nearer and nearer to the car to open the door I bought some new batteries.  Strange little 9 volt (L1022) alkalines.
I checked the out going battery voltage it was 1.3 volts amazing that it was working the electrics at all.  Changed the spare which was down at 0.3 volts and now both OK.

Having seen the price of Alkaline batteries in S/markets etc. I went on to ebay and bought a pair of batteries for £1.84 including postage, so that was a nice surprise.

My problem now is that the rubber click buttons are going "gooey".  I found an old mobile phone with rubber numbers and cut a set from there.  Looks a bit strange but Honda said they do not do that security set up any more and could not help.
These were new 10 years ago so not that old, maybe it is just me!
regards Roy

I thought manufacturers were obliged to keep all spares available for up to 10 years after a model goes obsolete?

When was the last production year of your car?
