I've had an account with them for the last 30 years.  What is your angle on this ?  Do you want to know if they have enough stocked items for us modelers or are you employed by them and fancy starting up a model makers division ?

Their parts are top notch and the list of components used to run to 5 annuals. They've stopped the catalogs now and depend on the web and their excellent telephone service.  It can be tedious searching for the correct part if, like me, you're  not sure where to find it.

Cheers

The clue might be op's location of Corby - RS central bunker.

I use them for small amounts of tooling and stuff. Quick turnaround and very prompt.

not in it to advertise or anything, what do you guys use from rs to build ...... anything you found really good price or expensive

genuine enquiry for me to get building a kit and of course I get discount for my own use

looking at a partial kit for hms Sheffield and was looking at what I could get from my company

Thanks for the enlightenment.   :-))

I've recently used them for geared motors but in all honesty there is not really much in the  'boating'  side of things.  Your best bet is a boat Kit and then when you need to improve or upgrade anything, you could see if your company has it first.

I seem to remember they do some very good but very expensive couplings. Other than that I've only ever bought electronic components from them.

We use RS at work. We tend to use them as a last resort as they are expensive . Same items can be found else were cheaper. Like other people have said there are suppliers who deal in boats bits. RS will do bits like LED wiring connectors some motors etc that is useful

In my previous life as Engineering Manager RS were last resource it was always in stock but more expensive than our usual suppliers.
Service was second to none with multiple ways to get your order in but you pay for it! :-)
