Title: switching

Having just built a smoke unit running on 12v. I need to control it from the receiver, Has any of you guys built a control unit using a servo and micro switch or would the recommended idea to be to buy a commercial latching switch. about 10amp
Any photos or drawing would be great.

I'd use a simple brushed ESC which can be had for a few bucks these days.


That's what I'm using on my Odin to supply power to a "Super smoker v4". It is hooked to a proportional channel (pot) and can be mixed to the throttle (both forward and reverse).

Micro switch and 10Amps don´t match up.
You have to switch a relay behind it.
Works perfect in my older models.

Today I build my own electronic switches (which are still using relay´s for Amps like this).

I have 4 of these in my boat. The man will do them latching or non latching. Note they are negative switched so YOU MUST switch on the negative side of the smoke unit. Best value for money out there and this is a 2ch unit most of the others are 1 ch.

I have one of these in my tug to switch the Harbor Models smoke generator.  Works very well.  The switch is a bit larger than a fingernail.
