They're claiming they use supercavitating technology ( means having a very powerful bubble maker right at the tip of each hull so the bubbles reduce friction , Russia has the Skval torpedo capable of 250knots that uses it ) but I would bet that in anything other than a flat calm this thing would be pretty unstable and very uncomfortable to be aboard

Looks like a shuttle from NCC1701 {-) (enterprise), I think they would get better results from designing a high speed sub based on nature, capable of flying to reasonable depths with extreme manoeuvring for dodging would be attackers, than this.

Judging by the complexity it would probably spend more time being repaired than actually doing anything important. One fault in the sponson and it'll either seize in that position or collapse, either way conventional hulls are safer and easier to maintain.
As for stealth, you can still see and detect a wake, and judging by the picture I can't imagine a wake like that staying hidden for long!

Hi Nick, myself I think it is an interesting innovation using swathe tech for a more stable platform and pioneering the bubble cavitation tech for a faster more efficient water/hull friction tech for a faster hull and increased fuel efficiency, interesting to see where this will lead to.

Innovative-yes, practicality- probably not .
Same reason why you don't see many hydrofoils in military service anymore, any damage to any of the foils leads to inefficiency or worse- catastrophic failure. Too easy to damage in active service.
What if only one leg deploys when they need to get away? Innovation is good but often it leads to something that's a fad only to be retired in less than 10 years.

The great thing about crazy inventions is that they sometimes trigger new ideas, and better ways of achieving the concept.
Some of these come into fruition, like the 'flying bedstead', and I am certain that the Osprey aircraft went through many iterations.
And swing wing aircraft? Crazy idea! That will never catch on.

It would be interesting to build though I might stick to BAE Systems Halmatic Interceptor Craft as a build.
Mainly as it was being worked on right next to the minesweeper I was working on today.
