To make the warships look more realistic what is the best thing to use as antenna wire, I have looked at a few model shops but cant seen to find none at all.
-
Have you tried electrical multi-strand wire. There must be a size suitable.

Depending on scale, black thread, bee's waxed, to keep down the fuzz.
Fishing line in medium or light cord...
:-))

Go to your local haberdashery shop and ask for beading elastic. They will sell it in different thicknesses by the metre and in dark brown or black.. I have used it on my Vosper RTTL and it looks very realistic. It can also be glued with ordinary super glue. Fishing line is affected by daylight and will deteriorate over time - beading elastic wont.

Ok thanks for the ideas, all my models are 1/350 and 1/200, so would black thread be my best option?
-
Don't use black thread at that scale it will stand out . .
Use grey, make sure you seal the wispy threads.
-
OK thanks longshanks grey thread it is then :-)
-
I've used the thread used by anglers to tie flies, various thicknesses and colours available.

So much advice :-)) thanks everyone

Lycra thread is good as it doesn't sag with age. Unlike me!
