Title: Revell Queen Mary 2 upgrades
Post by: Hilux5972 on October 10, 2014, 09:46:40 am
Hi all

I have just purchased one of the Revell 1/400 kits of the QM2 and want to upgrade with a few items. I am looking for the wooden deck overlays from Artwox with item number AW50028, and the gold Medal Models etch set with item number GMM 400-09. I am not having any luck finding either of these and wondered if anyone knows of somewhere I can purchase these or if anyone has either of these that they are not going to use and wish to sell. Thanks everyone

Ryan

Hi,
White ensign models (https://www.whiteensignmodels.com) stock both of these items.
Regards.

Thanks roger. I could only see the wooden deck overlays for the ship though? The others seem to be for the smaller 1/700 models. Preordered the deck though so that's a big help.

Both those upgrades look good, thanks for posting. I am still working on my own model on and off and am finding it a real pain to paint the balcony floors to each cabin which are a sort of beige colour. Even with a small brush it is easy to make mistakes and looks like it will take forever. I have wondered about using self adhesive tape but am afraid of it curling up and detaching at some time in the future.

Some people who have made this model have left the white areas as unpainted plastic but I have chosen to use Halford's white primer followed by Appliance White which gives a good effect. I have used matt black for the main hull.

Hi again

I have followed several links but nowhere seems to have the wooden decks for the 1/400 model. The White ensign store only has the 1/700 wooden decks and the artwox.com site comes up with a 403 forbidden notice. Anyone else have any ideas?
