The Tourist Information Centre does not do hotel and guest house lists anymore, you have to use the website " www.marketing (http://www.marketing) cheshire " for accommodation information. I am hoping to compile a list of places to stay within a five mile radius of the Museum.
-
Stan. Thanks for all your help, but it seems like it was not to be.
Jan has just got her work rota for February & March, and she is on nights all that weekend (Friday to Sunday) :((
I should be okay for a day pass, but it looks like the whole weekend is out of the question.
Sorry all, and thanks once again for all the assistance.
Kindest regards,
Dave W

Premier inns, lol............they like RYANAIR Rolfy........you never get the price that they advertise,lol........
but they do honour their promise of money back if you not satisfied....cheep night so long as you complain the next morning...............complained twice.....once about hard lumpy bed and again that I couldn't turn the heating off in the room or open the safety window in a family room in the summer.....they paid up readily to keep face. neil.
-

steve

Hi All, I am planning to come this year for the first time and was wondering what the opening and closing times are. I can only get up on Saturday afternoon so is there time to sail late afternoon. I don't think I will be around for the night sail as I am staying with friends. Is the fee of £3.50 applied each day? Thanks Graham
-
Hi Graham, the opening times for the show are Saturday 10 til 4 and Sunday 10 til 3. On Saturday, because we're doing the night time sail you could sail through the afternoon/evening as suits you.
The entry price for each day is £3.50.
Hope to see you then
John
-
Thanks John, That helps a lot in finalising my plans. When I do the Mayhem weekend I take a lot of boats in the van and a trolley so can you also tell me if access to the water is easy as some of my boats are quite big and bulky. Are tables available to put boats on for display? Sorry for more questions but as I have not been before its nice to have an idea of the setup and try to be prepared for all eventualities. Cheers, Graham
-
Easy access to the water... the only 'rough' bit is the carpark (stones/grass), but you can drop off outside the entrance and then it's paved right to the waters edge.
-
Just to get my ten pence worth in.....Don't forget the bring and buy. There's never been less than 100 boats for sale at any one time since the show started. £3.00 per boat for the weekend and no extra fees! So if you've got anything nautical, boats, books, ornaments etc, bring them along. I'll be taking items Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday mornings.
-
I can see me going home skint! :embarrassed:
-
Adam I am already skint lol have just finished priming the acl hope to have her in paint early next week fingers crossed

-

-

bring and buy is Saturday not sure martin will be there for long fri
-
Thanks Steve, is out back in same place as last year.
-
yes it is same as last year
-
Great day ahead, thanks in advance to the organisers for all of their hard work.
-
Great day so far! I've had the typhoon running, no accidents so far!
-
Excellent show, good number of trade stands and boat clubs. A very relaxed & friendly day out. Many thanks to all who put the show on. My only very slight disappointment was that although there were many static boat displays (all very good) there were not many on the water, could have been due to the strong wind? Those that did venture onto the canal were excellent though, especially liked the RAF Rescue Launch!
-
Great day today
But one of the boys has had to go back to work tomorrow so has gone home. And I decided to sell the boats I brought with us ha ha.
So our stand at west wales model boats is short of a few boats tomorrow if any one wants a place to put some boats for the day that would be great
And a big well don't to Martin for working hard on the bring and buy. Couldn't move there all day
-
What's up for sale?
-
Everything lol
My slipways conserver will be up torriw
-
Thanks organizers,
Mate and I just returned from a full and very good day at the show.Thought it would be a washout as we drove up the Motorway from Stafford. It was p.p..p..proper raining all morning but by the time we had enjoyed a good couple of hours talking to traders and parting with a few pounds we headed out for coffee and then enjoyed a great afternoon in the sunshine watching some brilliant on water activity and a good look around the club stands.
The quality of the majority of models on show were stunning, a nice mix of subjects and very friendly and helpful club members.
The bring and buy had some cracking bargains and my mate came away with a very nice american tug of a style we had not come across before, and an absolute bargain.
The Curry stand was a nice touch but hope the poor fellow can be offered a better pitch next time.
All in all a terrific day and look forward to the next at this lovely venue.
Many Thanks to the organizers, your work is appreciated .
Will. :-))
-
Hi All,
We have just returned home from a brilliant weekend up at the Ellesmere Port show, I would like to say a big thankyou to all members at Ellesmere Port model boat club for putting on a fabulous weekend and for making all our club members who attended made very welcome. It was nice to catch up will people, have a chat about various subjects and gain some very interesting information for future building.
Keep up the good work lads, we will be returning next year. O0
All the best
Take care
Dave Edgell. :-))
-
Just arrived home after an outstanding weekend.
As has been said, a huge thank you to the team who make it all possible. We are incredibly grateful for everything you've all done.
We had a great time and can't thank you all enough for making it a brilliant visit. I owe about 6 crates of beer to people for various reasons! %) :-))
We will absolutely be back next year.
-
Hi Guys Just put away the club stand and all my models after a very busy weekend. Loads of questions over the weekend and a huge amount of interest on my Boothbay Lobster Boat and also the use of LEDs for lighting. Lots of interest on all the models on our stand, and our junior member got a lot of interest with her Disney Castle boat and interest in her diorama of the Titanic. Big thanks to the organizers.
Stan Kirklees Model Boat Club
-
Hey Stan, sorry I didn't manage to catch up with you, you were away from the stand when I came up to say hello! Still a great weekend, ran my typhoon without losing it so that was a bonus!
-
We visited this boat show on the way back from N. Wales and must say were not expecting much, how wrong we were it was fabulous, the venue is worth a visit regardless of the model boat show and the models from various clubs were excellent.
Would have benefited from a few more trade stands but having said that there were about 10 or 11 and I managed to spend my pocket money {-)
Will definitely put it in the diary for next year. Great show.
-
Just recovered from our drive home. And early morning start back in work today
A massive thankyou to all the organisers and Martin down on the bring and buy table for all your hard work.
An excellent show as usual. Ok admittedly not as big as other years I have been but still a great show
From me and all at west wales model boats who attended thankyou !!!
And sorry our stand was so small
Rather than displaying models I put most of mine on the bring and buy ;-)
See you all next year hopefully
-

A big thank you to the traders, the boat clubs and the visitors who make this show such a resounding success. Thanks also to the Museum staff who support us brilliantly and to my colleagues in the Ellesmere Port Model Boat Club who work tirelessly to put the show on. The few months of work it takes to stage the event is worth it when we get all the nice comments and thanks from all you guys who exhibited your models, from the visitors and from the traders who all say "see you next year". In 2016 the show will be on the 5th. and 6th. March.

Congratulations on a superb show, something for everyone, the time and effort taken to organise it shows, could i sugest an inprovement to the handout given with the ticket, a map of the different areas, not just the room or building names.
Not been for a couple of years but it did seem to be a lot bigger this year, well done to you all.
Mark
-
Forgive me Runcorn, I forgot to thank you for all your help on the setting up days, your help was invaluable, so thanks to those of you who turned up to help. Also thanks to Dave Wooley who alone organised the David E. Owen Competition, now a regular and welcome feature of the show.

Chylds Hall Model Shipyard had a great weekend at Ellesmere Port.
Everyone was very helpful and all the model boaters were great to talk to.
Thanks to everyone who bought items off our trade stand and we certainly hope to attend the event next year. I have put the dates in our diary.
Being stuck behind the stand meant I was not able to look round many of the club stands and missed the "on the water" display, but I will try and get more organised next year and see a bit more.
The museum is very interesting.
Thanks again to the organisers.
