I have been given  an Electrolize 43HVR speed controller. Before I connect it up does anybody have any instructions Or does anybody know how to set the two adjusters.

A rather nice construction link - http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=9114.0 - including the setup and testing.
Tweaking is a finger and thumb job.  With most transmitters, the speed channel needs to be set with the servo reverse normal, Futaba like to be different, and should be set reversed.  This is to make sure that the servo is not powered in normal forward running, as it takes considerable power, enough to have a bad effect on run time.
