Title: PUBLIC THANKS TO SLINGER
Post by: Neil on November 12, 2014, 07:52:47 pm
I would just like to make a public thank you to Graham Sleight, aka Slinger.

last March, just as Graham was arriving at my house, a thug on a motorcycle assaulted me, headbutting me and causing ABH with a weapon........his crash helmet.......

I haven't said anything about this to anyone on here until today as it was obviously going through court and as such subject to sub judice'........

but today, after a long day in court waiting for a court room and a judge to become available, and a switch from Crown Court in Lancaster last night to Preston Crown court, this thug finally pleaded guilty to all charges...................and having apparently  had a list of similar assaults not going the whole distance because of lack of people willing to stand up to him, he is now awaiting sentencing, and the judge said that this would be a custodial sentence.

It was touch and go as to whether this case would go ahead today and talk was that it would be put back till next spring, just prolonging the stress.........graham stood by me and said to my barrister that he was quite willing to come back...........and for all his support and our chats about model boats to ease my stress today, I THANK YOU GRAHAM.

And what was the cause of this thug's assault on me............I had forgotten to cancel a left hand indicator on my car and when he decided to tail gate me on his scooter, I flicked from left to right indicator to drive down our street and he went ballistic.

Promise graham, next time you call, everything will be quiet and peaceful.

cheers, matey. neil.

Sounds like your assailant will get his come-uppance Neil O0  If he does get a custodial sentence it will be nothing more than he deserves. I hope you are OK.

Peter.

Glad it all worked out, But why oh why does it take so long to bring the perpetrator to court, and why wasn't he sentenced on the day? The legal system seems to bend over backwards to ensure the villain's rights are not affected but the victim can go hang. Rant over.

from the gist of what we heard yesterday......there are just so many villains out there that the courts just can't cope with the heavy burdens........sad really. neil.

True, but it sometimes happens that the accused is found to be innocent after having been held in custody on remand for months. Not every case is as cut and dried as Neil's. If the courts weren't so clogged up with rubbish like TV license or minor motoring offences then what court staff there are would be able to better cope with the "real" stuff.
I see they've let Harry Roberts out after 48 years, without a change in identity. I wonder how long he'll last.

BTW I don't know Graham Sleight except as one of the best customers I've had. No fuss, no daft questions, pays on the nose etc. Take a bow, Slinger.

how did you guess my intentions Frank............I have made a victim statement which his read out to him pror to sentencing, in which it states exactly that, that my wishes for compensation are that his scooter is confiscated sold and the proceeds go to Fleetwood RNLI.....hopefully the judge will have some empathy with the organisation.

Something else to brighten up your day, said perpetrator will find it very difficult to get insurance with a "road rage" conviction

Good news, Neil. Mental health issues? Of course he has mental health issues, no one in their right mind would do what he did to you but, as far as I'm concerned, that's no excuse - he knew what he was doing, and got what he deserved.

Peter.

Still, this time wasting nonsense is behind you now though I hope your teeth recover soon.

Happy Christmas and a happy new year. The world needs more Grahams and fewer mental bikers:O)
