Good afternoon all,
Can anyone give me an idea of where to get a set of General Arraingement drawings for:
YARD Nos. BARROW: 1061 TSS ORIANA
I was thinking of doing a 1/96 scale model of her.
Best Regareds,
Frank

I don't know where all the Vickers, Barrow drawings have gone, (won't be surprised if they have not been destroyed) however, your best approach probably is the National Maritime Museum at Greenwich, I know a lot went there; if they don't know then perhaps they know where they are if nothing else.

Hi Frank
A google search of your request has turned up this link:
http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/rd/1f46e684-7719-4094-902a-b85641035f9b
The top of the page seems to suggest they hold General Arrangement drawings for the ships then listed below. Your yard number 1061 is listed. Follow the 'see contact details' link on the page and hopefully someone will be able to help you obtain a copy of the plans you need.
Do let us know how you get on. :-))
Regards
Andrew

A very impressive list with many famous ships.
My first job was with Furness Ship Management in their accounts department and all the vessels we dealt with appear to be listed. Instant nostalgia!
