This is my idea of holding down the  deck The lug at the stern are put in first then access is gained between the batteries   to the pull ring and this engages the two leavers at the side and also rushed the tab in FWD.

David that is genius  :-))  I can see exactly how your system works you must have put a great deal of thought into that.  One question though - how are you going to stop water getting into the hull when the rear deck gets a good soaking?  Maybe a coat of vaseline between the parts?

I have trailed the web and found a company that makes one of gaskets out on silicone sheet , I was going to put a link but can not find it so I will have to have a trawl again ,I thought I had bookmarked a,h well .

David, you might have already thought of this but I stick/seal all my important hatches down with a pink sticky cream that you can buy from the chemist. I'ts for holding in dentures. It comes in a tube with a flat nozzle that lays a 5mm x 3mm strip down and has not failed to date, with easy cleanup. Beauty is that it is not water soluble but really easy to remove and apply if you need to remove the hatch for some reason.Oh and comes in peppermint flavour!

Whilst deep coaming sections are preferable, often this is not possible.
I use small round neodymium magnets set into both deck and hatch, which hold down extremely well but allow removal of hatch without undue effort.

Unlike denture adhesive (great idea!) they are not peppermint flavour - sorry !

Love the revolutionary and alternative use for denture fixative. Have had to use the damn stuff for years but never thought of it as a modelling asset. Is there no end to the inventiveness of modellers on Mayhem.
I am by the way impressed with the hatch, much preferable to 'laggy' bands.

hi, Chris, you should replace your dentures every 4 years, using fixative for the length of time you have tends to show that they do not fit. This is like being back at work, wish I had not retired, Nemesis

I reckon I have had 3 sets in 4 years must have an inferior dentist or they have a poor dental lab. Any offers >>:-(
