Seen on tv today the latest weekly magazine build model. As the advertisement said, a 1 to 1 scale model of the Millenium falcon. That had me sitting up and taking notice, that would be one big model!
Then it clicked, when they said a 1 to 1 scale model, what they were really talking about was a scale model of the model used in the movie and not a real life size one %% %)

I'd assume the publisher would go out of business or just give up after 18 months, so I'd never even start on something like that :-)

The report is a bit underesearched. This is a model not a "toy" as the DM calls it... It's like comparing one of Deand Marine's Kits to a revell snap fix.
But I will agree 900quid is a bit steep tho.
I'd assume the publisher would go out of business or just give up after 18 months, so I'd never even start on something like that :-)
I have collected several of these over the years and I quite enjoy them, hachette and deagostini have been around for many years.
Something to bear in mind even if you don't like them, partworks do bring people into the hobby so they can't be all bad :)

I have had the pleasure of displaying the old Master replica Models Millennium falcon at an event about eight years ago. The same scale as this part works, and boy was it impressive. These now sell for the low to mid thousands of pounds so £8.99 a week is not unreasonable. However, now being available to 'the great unwashed' will destroy any exclusivity that the old Master Replicas model had, so count me out.
( begrudgingly...I really want one %% )

All the cost of this model aside, how did George Lucas come up with so many iconic model designs, costumes, charators, visual images, music, etc, etc, all in one film?!? - I still remember the night when my big bruv took me to see.... what a fantasic film!
