Title: The Range, Mini Clamps
Post by: radiojoe on January 09, 2015, 02:45:04 pm
I was in the Range store this morning and they had some new displays in the form of cardboard boxes down the centre of the aisles, all manor of things under the heading Hot Deals, the first few boxes were 2 pounds per item the rest were 1 Pound per item, after a quick browse I found packets of 8+  2" clamps, well you can't have too many clamps, or for anyone new to the hobby worth a look, and for the price they aren't bad.  ;)

Made in China. I buy them 6 to a bag for a euro a time in the Chinese shops in Spain.

I have some from when Tesco had their brief flourish as a DIY shop, they are very useful. Get yourself several packs as you can never have enough clamps; ask any carpenter.

Just keep an eye on the pin that holds the Jaws(orangey red bit) to the clamp...... they have tendency to pop out

Easily fixed with a drop of thin superglue on each end

Yep I've got a load of these from the Range.

Like e2v the problem I have is with the little jaws. they move about a little too freely for my liking and can make it fiddly to get them into position. If doing a job that requires some dexterity and lots of clamps I normally pack a little bit of tissue under the pins with a toothpick to give them a bit more resistance.
