After building two modern- ish tugs for me anyway, I have decided to use up a cruiser hull that I bought from the internet and make something different out of it, after trawling through my picture collection I have decided on Steele and Bennie's Warrior. built in 1935.
the cruiser hull lends itself quite well to her, so last year whilst having a rest from serious building I made up the superstructure to see if it would look ok on the hull, the put it all under the bench, Well I have now dug it out and started in earnest, the deck beams are in and the decks are cut from 3mm ply, and the upperworks look ok so here are some pictures of progress so far. Its looking good George.
Do you prefer ply for the superstructure?, and how did you curve the front of the wheelhouse.
Len.

thanks guys, yes I much prefer to work with wood, plus I didn,t have the cruiser top works, I make a framework to bend and stick the ply to for the curve. geo

O0...that soft yellow lighting around the superstructure is very realistic ............Derek

Thanks Derek I try to always use bulbs as it does give a more gentle light, I personally find LEDs are either too bright or not bright enough. Geo
-
Totally awesome... work of a master for sure!

As you say Geo......a bit of oily steam & boiler ash will soon dull those spotlight beams emitted from the engine skylights {-)......Derek

That is what I will have to do or at least supply the E R hands with decent sunglasses.
Well here she is ready for her sea trials tomorrow morning weather permitting. Geo :-))
