Hi all well since I've nearly finished the Spits and the Lanc I thought it was time to start back on the Corvette and this little beauty that I've just taken delivery of, I must say I thought the 1/6 bikes box were huge but even they pale into insignificance when compared to this beast.
That said the box could be half this size
(http://i.imgur.com/9OfjTiC.jpg)
The moulding detail is beautiful

The instructions however could do with some work, one written page in english everything else is in French.

and why put these on the top where they could get creased like this, if theyed been on the bottom this would not have happened
(http://i.imgur.com/XNIe46R.jpg)
Hopefully I can iron them out.
I have taken a very stupid chance and bought a very (well I think its very expensive) guilding kit just for this. I gulp, am going to try useing real gold leaf wherever the ship has gold. I have never guilded anything in my life so we will see, have I wasted my money, am I going to ruin this kit, stay tunefor the next exciting episode.
-
Ooh cool. I bought four of the 1:400th scale kits for my French Tudor fleet but they were a bit small. I salute you for giving gold leaf a go.
I am sure you have thunked of it before, but pop on Youtube and see how the experts do gilding.
-
do you think the box is actually bigger than it really needs to be - it seems like it, i take it is going to be static as well, not much space to rc it, unless a deans mini 24ghz system could be fitted, i'd love to do a version of the heller 1:100 victory - now thats got space compared to the standard airfix 1:180 or even the hellers 1:225
-
Heller probably decided to save money by not having another size box stamped/printed with the inherrant set up costs, and just went for an existing box. Several companies design their kits to a scale that fits a minimum number of boxes, Revell is a case in point with ship kits in some interesting scales!
-
Well here is my first attempt at guilding.

not sure wether to do a wash to highlight the detail or not, dont know if it will kill the shine on the gold, and if I did what colour should i use.
-
Hi all here is a bit of an update. I have a big problem with this kit and dont know how much further I can go with it. there is supposed to be 2 sprues number 17 and 2 number 18 but there is only 1 of each, I have emailed Heller and asked for the missing sprues to be sent but have no idea what their customer service is like I'm hopeing they will send them as the kit is useless without them and I will have to bin it otherwise. so will do what I can and hope they will send the parts sooner rather than later.

-
I thought they had dissapeared after Airfix went belly up a few years back, so as long as they are producing the kit (Manufacturers re-release kits from time to time) they should have the sprues.
Did you buy the kit new or second hand? If the latter, it may be some time since they ran the moulds. Can you copy the parts by scratch building?
-
Hi I bought it direct from Heller in France so hopefully should get a reply
-
That is good, they then are obliged to sort out your lack of sprues.
-
I hope so as there are loads of parts on those two sprue's and yes maybe I could scratch build a couple of the bits but not all of them. There must be sixty odd bits on those two sprue's.
-
Here is an update these rib bits are very confusing, doesn't help there are no english instructions for this bit.

-
Crikey, you have become quite the dab hand at gold leaf work. The intricacy of the build is really starting to show.
Does she come with a crew?
-
Hi no mate, thank god 427 galley slaves at 1/75, that's not counting the rest of the crew, don't fancy painting that lot. Struggling with the instructions 17 written in french and one in English, I would seriously suggest anyone contemplating building this kit learns to read french first, or they may end up bald like me.
-
or type the instructions into outlook and translate - pigeon style
-
will have to look into that one, do you mean outlook as in the email prog.
I am having all sorts of problems getting rid of the loose flakey bits that you just cant seem to brush off, so I've decided to try guilding the whole part then painting over the guilding.
I've started by sizing all the parts for guilding
(http://i.imgur.com/y61bUqa.jpg)
then guilding the whole lot
(http://i.imgur.com/o4sOBba.jpg)
Now painting it
(http://i.imgur.com/MKX7PuE.jpg)
also I decide to put a wash over some of the solid gold parts to highlight some of the detail
(http://i.imgur.com/qEvFgEQ.jpg)
-
Have to say the wash certainly makes a difference, really brings out the high spots and adds some nice shadowing
-
She will be a wonderful sight on the pond when complete!

Yes the e-mail program - select the text and right click - about 2/3rds the way down is translate - just change the settings French to English.
I don't think he intents to sail her, unless it is in the bath, it looks like a static model, especially with that free board.
-
That is a shame, but it will look splendid on the mantelpiece!

Gorgeous work! I love that blue you are using, it reminds me of the Humbrol shade.
-
Glad you like it unfortunately I won't be going much further with this unless the parts come through, I will probably end up putting itvin a dio of dry dock having a refit if the parts don't turn up, which is looking quite likely.
-
That's a fair sized craft. I love the gilding work especially the wash to bring out the shadows better. Forget using Outlook for translation. If you are using google chrome as a browser it will do it automatically for you. If not the google homepage has its own translator anyway. All you need to do is copy and paste any words or paragraphs into it and it will translate- it is pretty accurate with it as well.
I'm not too sure it would make a good pond sailer though, the freeboard is much too low due to the oar ports for the slaves.
-
Hi all well I've done all the flure de lys on one side (think I've gone cross eyed doing them)

Very nice indeed :-)) I do like your gilding - well worth the time and money to produce an exceptional model.
I do hope your missing parts arrive soon. We have a few French members here on Mayhem - I wonder if they could help being a little closer to the source?
Greg
-
Hi all well I'm afraid this is as far as I can go till the parts come so hopefully they will be here soon.
I cant glue the two boxes on yet as I would not be able to get the other cannons in so this is it for now.

She looks brilliant! You know the owner has a few 'bob' when he has the cannon guilt!
I am pleased to hear that the missing sprues are on their way, this is a positive note for Heller.
-
Emailed Heller and have been told the parts were shipped on the 23rd so hopefully not long to wait. Still won't get much done as off on hols in a fortnight.
-
The parts have arrived, also Woo hoo I just won Airfix royal sovereign off ebay so doubly happy today.
-
:-)) :-)) :-))
Looking forward to the next steps.

That gun platform says 'Ceremonial' by the way the large cannon are jammed in like parked cars. That is becoming one beautiful ship. I am so glad you stayed the course and that Heller came through with the missing sprues.

just one question, the rigging thread which\that(dont know the correct word) comes with the kit is off white, is that right, as the only rigging colour I've seen is black ( or at least it looks black) I thought they used tarred rope so that would make it black
-
Standing rigging would be black but running rigging would be light brown. The tar used is Stockholm tar which is not oil based but is I think based on tree resin.

-
Again, mighty purty. The canopy is very ala mode:O)
crikey, you are a busy modeller, what with the Sovereign and a Heavy bomber as well.
-
The lanc is a commision piece, I'm also doing a vfr 750 f.
-
Is that to fund your boat building habit!!!!
-
well it does help.
Hi all I feel I'm getting there now (although this is the point at which it may get shelved (really not looking forward to the rigging) ) I'm sure you must all be getting bored of this by now.

Well I've done a bit on the rigging no pics as you wouldn't even notice what I've done, the instructions are so complex (even though I have English versions (I think that may even make it worse)) I have an idea I've gone as far as I want with this one.
-
Hi all well I know some of you more used to rigging would probably have this much work don in ten mins but this represents several hours and lots of hair pulling and certain words of a not particularily pleasant nature.

It is your model mate so do as much as you want. All I will say is to take it step by step, pace yourself, be proud of the progress you have made as there is nothing there I can see that looks rubbish, so your efforts are paying off.
The Royal Sovereign may be a a little more complex to rig given the number of masts and sails etc. Here though, you will now have some experience in rigging, and a lot of it is repetition of process.
Slendid work:O)

Where are the RC oarsmen?!?
-
Hi all you may think I've given up on this but I assure you I've not, I've spent all week on the rigging (not enough to bother posting but enough to drive me insane (I don't remember all the Airfix tall ships I built giving me so much trouble), must be the destructions, hopefully some pics tomorrow. I've done some work on the Royal Sovereign and finished the Honda vfr 750 f but, by the time I've done it, it's too late to post
-
Hi all as promised here are some pics

I couldnt find any gold thread to make the fringe round the canopy or the tassles at the end of the flags, so this will have to do
(http://i.imgur.com/wCGd2LP.jpg)
what swmbo dont know cant hurt her Te Hee Hee.
Now I just have to duplicate this on the other side do the rest of the rigging on the main sail then do exactly the same on the front mast and sail.
-
Mum's the word, your secret is safe with us! Looking good, I like all the winding on the shrouds.
-
Hi all the flags on the main mast and the fore mast all have tassles on them, the instructions tell you to wind the gold thread round a rod or tube tie them then cut at the furthest point for the tie. well this is my best attempt out of ten
(http://i.imgur.com/XjjjWBM.jpg)
so, after hours of slaving at making a specialist tool for the job I came up with this.
yes I know it looks futuristic and exotic, and I know everyone will want one (especially at the special introductory offer of £50.00) I am expecting huge order numbers so please be patient, anyway here's how it works
(http://i.imgur.com/NQYfYxE.jpg)
a vast improvement on this
(http://i.imgur.com/XjjjWBM.jpg)
I think you will agree.
I will be taking orders for my new tool which I will be calling the Prongy (catchy name dont you agree) I can see lots of other useful ideas for it too hair combing, lock picking, raking the grass just to mention a few So get in first to avoid the rush.
-
Brilliant improvisation. :-)) What model shops will be stocking them ?
-
Robert Dyas has a stock, and you can get a whole set of 'Prongys' including blunt cuttters and rabbit glue heating scoops!
Cheque is in the post KP :-))
-
Blimey it don't take long for the black market to jump on the band waggon I don't supply Robert dyas, oh well I have another invention in the pipeline, it's a round disc you can put hot or cold food on, so you don't get saw dust mixed up with it, it's made of a hard substance I'm calling hard shiney white stuff.
-
Still watching, still enjoying.... and laughing {-)
Nice job
Greg
-
Nah, it'll never take off (Except at Greek weddings maybe:O)

Hi all I've just realised there are 24 more tassles to make for this kit, its becoming an epic build not sure I'm not sure it will be finished in my lifetime.

Unless you are 111 years old, I reckon you will get this and many other models completed before even your fingers give out.
You know how to to them, so they won't take so long to 'Tasselate'!
-
I've sat down at the table 3 times tonight and done nothing, is this what it feels like to lose your mojo not felt like this before I love modeling but don't seem to have any interest when I sit down
.
-
That happens all the time. You get a good run of progress, then somehow run out of puff. No worries. Leave it be for a while and you'll soon be itching to finish her off. Nearly there !!!!
Question: Are there dozens of oars to go in ? She's obviously a galley.
-
I know the feeling KP. I have a squillion lorries and tanks to put together, several to finish, lots of little Turdor ships to complete but nerry a sign of the Mojo. have a rest and read a book for a few days then it will start to resurface.
-
Thanks guys. Yep there are 32 oars to go in.
-
Looking at the ships details on Wiki, highly interesting, it says 30 pairs of oars with six rowers per oar.
This model is undoubtedly going to be the most potentially vulnerable to damage of all time. Dusting, little fingers, even moving it. Does look incredible though :-))
-
The blurb with the kit says 31 pairs of oars with 7 slaves to each oar, the kit comes with 32 pairs of oars so a couple of spares.
-
If you have space, perhaps put it on a base so that the oars are protected from all but the most pernicious enemy attack.
-

Hi all thought I would have a break from the rigging so decided to do the steps, they are supposed to have hand rails but they were so fine one was snapped on the sprue and one broke cutting it off the sprue so will have to make a couple out of copper wire

-
well this is on the back burner again
(http://i.imgur.com/Aml7fHZ.jpg)
as you can see from the parts list sprue 17 and 18 say 2 sprues sprue 9 and 9a are listed together with a sprue count of 2 I stupidly didnt count the number of oars on the sprues (there are 16 oars on each sprue) so the 2 on the parts list means 2 of each 9a and 9 (why didnt they list those to sprues separately or say 4 on the parts count, so now I have to go through the rigmarole of contacting heller again and waiting for the parts, this really is putting me off ever buying a heller kit again, I mean are all there kits like this, I dont think much of the're quality control if they dont even bother doing a sprue check on the contents of a kit.
-
Oh no, not again :((
I thought you were just about done, and a lovely job you have made of an unusual subject. I do hope Heller come good very soon. Send them a link to this log - it might make them appreciate you more! :-))
Greg
-
Bloomin heck. There is nothing worse for enthusiasm than a bottleneck caused by the manufacturer. I have never heard of a kit missing so many sprues before especially from an old guard like Heller! Even if they were training packers, the trainer should have picked it up.
I hope your request for the sprues is successful.

Hi all was looking at this today and noticed the mast was bent.
so I thought how can I fix that and a cunning plan developed.
first break the top of the mast off then drill out a hole in the top of the mast and insert brass rod then reglue the top on

since this pic I decided I dont like the fore mast sail so have removed it was thinking of removing the main sail as well but my missus says no, what do you think would they have had one sail down and not the other or would they both be up or down.
-
Please leave the masts and sails in place. They look the Biz :-))
-
Hi KP,
Agreed with Bob.
If you look at the older boats on the Nile with the large lateen sail, many have 'dubious' timbers, not just the yards.
Great build by the way :-))
Tony
-
I have to say I quite like the sails. They are pretty good for a plastic kit. My only reservation is that they seem to be filled by wind from different directions, which makes the whole rig look odd to anyone who knows sails. And the flag on the mast suggests a different direction again. Very confusing :o
Still a great build though, and well worth pride of place in the lounge!
Greg
-
You have a discerning wife KP. I would leave the sails and be patient while the remaining sprues arrive.
Brilliant stuff!
-
Well I'm not sure what's going to happen with the La Reale I've contacted heller several times but no reply, the 32 oars I do have couldn't go all on one side said some are different so I can't put them all on one side and display it that way. Not sure I can be bothered with displaying it in dry dock being refitted (lot of work involved and I will always know she's not complete) too big to keep hanging round, maybe time to bite the bullet and stick her in the spares drawer. All I know is she's taking up valuable room, not sure the missus will let me scrap her but, I am rapidly losing interest in her.
-
<:( <:( <:( and >>:-( <*< to Heller!
Greg
-
That is really gutting. After all your lovely work and superb gilding. >>:-(
So much for both quality control and customer service.
-
send them a photo and say they are stopping the completion of a quality project - they may relent once they see the work done.
-
Already sent some pics to them mate.
just emailed heller explaining to the person who dealt with the parts problem last time that I am a member of several forums that this build is posted on, and that it doesn't look good on Heller's part when I can't say when the build will restart.
But I've had a great idea, I love the sleek lines of the hull, what if I put some rockets on the side and turned her into a space galleon.
-
Well, that is one use for it :D I would wait for a while and see what Heller comes up with and if they don't come up with the oars etc, I really would consider getting the modelling sticks (you get a free coffee with each modelling stick purchased :-)) ) out and start wittling some:O)
If you can rig a ship, carving oars should be a doddle.
-
Well I decided to have a go at making the missing parts and after 2 hrs and on my third attempt, this is what I have
(http://i.imgur.com/xTQE156.jpg)
I'm quite pleased with it, its a bit crude but when its installed I dont think it will notice too much.
I know one thing I will never buy another heller kit. its not the kits (the kwak apart) they are great kits I've loved the La Reale, its their complete ignorance I've sent 2 emails just asking would they let me know even if they are going to send the parts, not one single reply to 8 emails, now I call that down right rude. I intend to send one more email informing them that they are not the only kit manufacturer out there and if they treat all their customers the way they have treated me I wont be the only customer they loose.(since they obviously ignore emails it probably wont do any good but it will make me feel better) You don't buy model kit and expect to have to make the parts yourself. Rant over so only 15 more of these babys to make
-
Well done, especially in not giving up. The oars look good. At least you can say it was part scratch built.
Seriously though, for 109 Euro's plus shipping I would have expected someone to have at least checked the contents before mailing out.
-
Just had a thought . . . As you have some of the oars you could use a few to make a mould, then resin cast the extra ones you need. At least that way they will be exact copies.
-
What ever you do, the scratch built one looks very good. Kudos to your efforts mate.
-
Thanks a great idea but I have no idea how to do resin moulding.
-
Thanks must admit not looking forward to the other 15. I really an peed off with Heller
-
Once you have a process going, they will not take that long. You know what materials you need and their sizes, so you have a pattern and the materials so all shouls go smoothly.
-
Hi all well thanks to some help the parts are coming.
-
Good for you Ken.
-
hi all well I'm as happy as a frog on a lilly pad the parts have arrived an idea can finally finish this build, thanks for sticking with it and giving me the enthusiasm to keep going. Hope you will all stay to the bitter end
-
No worries Ken, you are nearly there. I am pleased that Heller stepped up and did the decent thing. A bit of negative publicity often helps.
-
After all the drama, at least you have a positive result. Can't wait to see the finished model.
-
Hi all a small update, everyone was telling me the sails should not be billowing in different directions, contrary to the instructions and the fact that the sails are vac formed and can only but put on that way, I decided to make sure its right I would do the fore mast sail furled.
-
That is becoming an astounding model Ken.
-
Good call on the sails Ken, your furled sail looks very good - is it tissue or cloth? And the whole model is going to be stunning. I hope you have a prime site reserved for display - is there going to be a display case? I guess with the oars in place the model spreads over a pretty large area so a case would be a monster!
Greg
-
No case don't know what I will do with it when done done, probably end up in thecspares drawer depends on missus, she wouldn't let me scrap it when I lost interest in it. Nor would she let me put rockets on it and turn it into a space galleon, funny it's the first model she's really showed an interest in, personally I will just be glad to finish it (although I am altering the oars a bit). As I said once they are built I rapidly loose interest in them.
-
It sounds like you will have to be interested in it for a little while after completion to sort out a permanent home:O)
-
Hi all a little update on the Reale, I thought I would try to improve the way the rowers handles are depicted.

so, only 29 more to go
-
Nice! The extra work has paid dividends ken. Have you made a drilling jig to halpe speed up your hole drilling?
-
No I couldn't think of a way, I've drawn on a board a line where each hole should be and glued a stop on it, I put the oar up against the stop then make a mark with my knife where the hole should be then use the tip of the knife to make a centre mark, then drill the hole, not very efficient but I'm not a very talented modeler, that's my excuse, and I'm stocking to it.
-
Going by the super detailing you are doing with her, methinks you are beng modest:O)
-
Nope that's the only extra detail I've put on this kit. To be honest I am thinking of jacking it all in, I am running out of room so I put my scratch built mississippi sternwheeler on ebay with other kits, I recon they are all destined for the bin as no interest at all and the auction finishes on Wednesday.
-
Please do not allow yourself to become discouraged. It is a truly lovely model and should be displayed with pride. As for those auctions, often it takes more than one 'session' to move something, especially if it is unusual. :}
-
Hi all well here is an update on this build someone told me the clew? was missing, well apparently this is it (the loose flap of sail from the furled sail)in the first picture.

I've added all the cannons now as well.

-
Bloody gorgeous Ken. I wish you well on the auctions and hope the bin does not profit in any way.
-
The auctions my friend were a waste of time and a complete insult the stern wheeler went for 10.50 and the bikes went for 3.70 each I will be binning all the rest.
-
I am very sorry to hear that Ken. £10.50! Well, I hope they know what a skilled builder put into it.
-
Hi all the bloke came to collect bikes today, nice chap, was impressed with them, and insisted that I took another tenner for them.
-
Hi all didn't like the oar handle, too irregular, so browsing the net I found these, they are OO gauge steps (1/87) so near enough.

But as you can see they are too wide
(http://i.imgur.com/QOpyfXT.jpg)

so with my guage
(http://i.imgur.com/R5JYpjT.jpg)

I whittled them down a bit
(http://i.imgur.com/XcMewsB.jpg)

cut to length
(http://i.imgur.com/LCFjaPG.jpg)

split
(http://i.imgur.com/6Roe6Fe.jpg)

and with a little bit of fettling they will all look the same now
(http://i.imgur.com/50ahQrf.jpg)
-
Hi all, well I think I'm on the last leg of this build, this is half way there with the oars
(http://i.imgur.com/PKnOIYL.jpg)
just these left to do
(http://i.imgur.com/1UIRiHQ.jpg)
every single oar has this huge seam on it, so, only32 to sort
(http://i.imgur.com/cTkE1jh.jpg)
I really feel this is nearing the end now, once I add the oars it will be huge, no idea what I will do with it when done, I had my warspite dio in the local library, but now thats back due to the library re-utilising the areas and no longer having room for it (a polite way of saying no one was interested in it) so now I've got that back too. argh I have no room.
-
Well I am so annoyed I thought I had some oars over and I had finished them but no, stupid idiot there are 32 PAIRS of oars, not 32 oars, now I have to order more of the steps to cut down for the handles, or I display it from one side only.

-
The effort of making the new oar details and cleaning all the mould lines off was worth it. Looking awesome.
-
Looking better and better! :-)) :-))
-
Well I've got to do all 64 oars again, I ordered some more ladders to do the handles with ( ordered more than I needed as I could see them being usefull for other things) luckily I ordered the wrong bits.

now when you compare them, I just have to redo all of them
(http://i.imgur.com/TU34hCq.jpg)

-
Kudos to you Ken for making the effort to get it right. It will only add more pazazz to the finished model. I would have the mantlepiece remodelled to show the model off properly :-)
-
Hi all well the advantage of taking my boss to have her hair done is it gives me 5 hrs sitting in the car, so I've bought a bag of oars and glue with me so looking forward to hours of glueing oars.
-
How did it go? 5 hours for a hair do? That is a serious head topiary.
-
Oh it's not just hair do whilst she's there in Harrods she does a bit of shopping too, done all but four of them, that's removing the old ones and glueing the new ones on so nearly ready for painting.
-
Hi all I've been racking my brains trying to think of a way to do the tassels round the canopy, I cant find any which match the cord I've done the flags on the mast with, so,came up with this.
take a piece of double sided tape and stick it to a piece of paper
(http://i.imgur.com/2jVBwaN.jpg)
tack that each end to a lollipop stick
(http://i.imgur.com/NCIkWZJ.jpg)
wind the gold thread round the lollipop stick
(http://i.imgur.com/RhLNrc0.jpg)
Cut along the edge
(http://i.imgur.com/Klxgb8T.jpg)
then glue in place
(http://i.imgur.com/cXkrYht.jpg)
-
Great idea. basically taking the way to make tassels and miniaturising it with added security.
Brill!
-
Dun da da da,da its finished
I will post better pics tomorrow but here she is.
I few suggestions for anyone building this, don't glue the trumpets on the angels on the stern till the kit is finished( cant count the number of times I've knocked them off). do not glue the side railings on till the end they were constantly getting in the way making it difficult on numerous occasions, and most annoyingly including the rigging stage, I know you tie some of the rigging off onto it but you could always tie off to the framework some where temporarily.
other than that it is a great kit and all goes together well.

-
Congratulations, looks superb. So glad you stuck the whole course.
Question: Are the oars removable for display? It all looks incredibly vulnerable to damage in a living room. Beware the wife's feather duster !
-
A friend of mine has a glass case on the floor with a boat in it that they use as a coffee table. You obviously already have a coffee table so that may not be a good idea in your case.
She has come up brilliantly Ken. Your work with gold leaf has turned what could have been a bit clunky and ordinary to the next level of brightness and detail. I love the colours that seem not to be too bright, and so reflecting reality.
I take my hat of to you sir for sticking with it as you worried us a few weeks ago when it sounded like the bin might get it!
-
I also take my hat to you for such persistence. We followed you all the way.
Well done a super build. :-))
Cheers

Hi all just a quick update,my bosses husband said he would buy the Royal Sovereign but that this was too big was talking to him the other day and mentioned the Greenwich maritime museum said they wanted it but did not have the room, but would I resubmit it next year as they are constantly changing their displays. He told me today he will buy it (no mention of price), what would I ask for I can't keep it for a year, don't have the room (incidentally i told my boss I had got the Airfix Wasa off ebay and she wants me to build that for her. Actually as I was typing this he came up they've both gone for £400.00 I am well chuffed, I'm sure I could have got more but hey, two models out of the way and money for more, still have to finish the Sovriegn, and of course, start a finish the Wasa, I love modeling
-
:-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))
Result! And well deserved. O0 O0
Oh, and don't forget to show us Wasa as she grows out of that pile of plastic!
-
Brilliant Ken. I echo Greg's comment and look forward to seeing your next build.
-
Hi all well getting this one back in a sorry state, went down to feed the birds and empty the bins this morning. Rolf tried to take it to his house in frinton yesterday, didn't even get it out of the hall broke lots of oars off the anchor post lots of railings, a lot of the rigging is slack so he's busted something there as well, he thinks I will just go down with a tube of superglue and stick it all back on, not that simple a lot of the guilding was pulled off when the oars and railings came off so that will have to be redone(a real pain as lots of bits were stuck on after the guilding ) I will take some pics when I get it home.
-
Oh bleep :((
-
Ok so I've reguilded the damaged guilding and the actual damage is not as bad as I feared the worst bit being he broke one of the side arms off and I cant find it anywhere os will have to try and scratch one(those canons are tiny, maybe a stretched sprue or a matchstick in the lathe, it's also now missing one of the flags (which I also cant find) nothing I can do about that so will just touch up the paint where it was snapped off .
here is the damage.
