I have just bought a secondhand Metcalf "Moonbeam" but some of the ropes have been broken on the sails. Has anyone got a copy of the sailwinch setup as I have just bits and pieces of rope.
-
I have the moonbeam albeit never got wet yet . If nobody comes up with out will try and take a pic or make a drawing. Is it drum or sail arm mine is drum

I have the Moonbeam plans Bob. Will try and copy for you. I had the same problem but I could not replace the lines on the winch drum due to lack of access. I replaced the winch drum with a sail-arm which was much simpler to install and she sails perfectly. Admittedly, the arm is not quite as powerful and you have to change the servo, but it works for me.

It is a sail winch at the moment I have stripped all the rigging and mast so that I can clean up the deck and revarnish it

The halyard had worked loose I think - that's what you get for rushing things to get on the water - and me a sailor for 40 odd years! Stupid boy!
Will be on sale here next week.
