Title: Lusitania
Post by: Liverbudgie2 on May 07, 2015, 10:35:47 am
To-day the 7th May 2015 just after lunch, spare a thought for the Lusitania and the 1200 passengers and crew who were lost. A loss, which on both sides of the Atlantic, revelled just what we were against.

Indeed, a major tragedy.  I am in the middle of Erik Larson's book, "Dead Wake," which is a detailed account of the sinking of the Lusitania and the events that led up to it.  He strongly implicates the Admiralty for not sending naval escorts to protect her, even though "Room 40" knew well in advance the sub that sank her was active in the area off southern Ireland.
