Title: My Springer ( first boat for over 30 years)
Post by: Chavender on May 14, 2015, 09:12:36 am
As a long time aero modeller and having access to a few lakes and a pool, thought it was time to get back to boats.
I chose a springer as a start seeing as I had some scrap ply.
The build was straightforward but having to add 2 kilo`s to get to the waterline  seems weird to an aero modeller.
I used a brushless motor and lipo battery as that is what I had to hand and the esc is forward only (soon to be changed).

The springer is great fun and will come in useful if I have to rescue my next boat.

Very tidy build you've done there, Bill.  I do like Springers.  I have seen them with brushless motors and they are capable of surfing, so perhaps you won't need a reverse.     Spin on the spot type of driving.    {-)

Cheers

Thanks Ken
I think that at full power it would be more a case of spin on the spot DIVING ok2 .
Will probably be better on a 2 cell lipo.
