Hit a bloody great pothole going round a corner on a country road late at night, tore the passenger side front wheel off the rim throwing the car into the bank, rolled once and came to a rest on its side. The three of us got out through the sunroof and went off to hospital, nothing major. By all intents and purposes I shouldn't still be alive, seeing as my head was outside the car while it was upside down.. The three of us are claiming against the council
Most annoying bit being that I'd only had the car two weeks
-
Sounds like you were lucky to come out of that one alive - no prizes for guessing how quickly the council will deal with THAT pothole then... <*<
Regards,
Ray.

OH sugar the tone of the establishment has suddenly gone right out of the door O0 O0 O0 O0

Saved by your hair Andy {-) I'm sure you can get a bus to Wikkie........welcome back...... :-))
-
Still got that sub to build Andy! %)
-
Unfortunately I wasn't wearing the wig at the time Phil {-)
You're still welcome to pop the sub on my bench Martin, got a couple to build first though
-
Crikey, that looks like the car father Ted tried to panel beat back to pefection! I am glad that the Model boating fraternity did not lose one of it's own last night.
Was the car new or second hand? Either way, that pot hole is going to cost the council mega bucks. I think everyone should keep on at their council to fix the holes near their locality so that this awful thing does not happen to anyone else.
Now where's my notebook......... :-))

:o...good you are OK Andy........we have a lot of roads in OZ, and a lot of potholes in the roads.....but our Councils seem to have the LAW :police: on their side when such matters reach Court......good luck :-))
In 1973, my one year old Renault 12 was involved in a dispute with a pothole >>:-(....one new 13" Michelin tyre & tube and a mechanical spinning and straightening of the LH front rim later ...from memory about $55.00 cost...the Wollongong City Council suggested that motorists should drive to the conditions at the time and be more diligent when driving on rain effected roadways........
Further it could not be proved that any Council employee knew that the pothole existed.......'potholes were considered as a result of substrate earth movement' {or an act of nature} and not as 'man made' ..............[it was a fully sealed 2 x 3 lane divided highway complete with kerb & guttering on either side]....... [& complete with a big bl**dy pothole in the middle lane]
So the $55 tyre & wheel repair & $150 for the Solicitor........... <:(....[long before the days of no win no pay legal services of today]........Derek
