Title: Broken connection

I have just managed to sheer off completely one of the electrical connections on a brand new bow thruster motor.Is this repairable and if so please point me in the direction

If all that is visible is the cross section of the tag flush with the plastic of the end cap, the chances are slender.  A repair would involve tinning the bare metal using solder paint and a very hot iron with a very small tip so as to get in and out before seriously damaging the plastic end cap.  A workable procedure might be to use the leg of a suppression capacitor with a longer wire pre-attached as a new tag.   
To get to the tag to do a replacement would probably involve removing the cap from the body - small motors are generally not designed to be disassembled and reassembled.  It can be done with care, ingenuity and patience, but good results are not common.  The tabs holding the end cap in place either refuse to bend straight or go back where they came from, and the sprung brushes give their on problems.

It might be easier to replace the motor. A stock 380 will fit Graupner, Raboesch and Robbe units and run on 6v to 7.2v. If you want to use a 12v supply then fit a 385. Either type should cost you no more than a fiver.

bad news, its smaller than a 280 motor, with a 2mm shaft..good news, I've fixed it. With the usual lack of fan fair and tub thumping..extensive series of posts to follow explaining how talented, modest, under appreciated etc etc................
