I've bought one of these before and the techniques are very good but I found that they tried to explain them over 2 pages with a couple of big images and perhaps 2 paragraphs of text which wasn't quite enough to cover in detail what needed to be done.

It's great these magazines get published but I didn't really find it very useful.

Look on U-tube there are loads of videos about weathering tanks and cars and such.  It's more useful to see someone actually doing than writing about it.   If you're like me and already know how to do it, there's always new things to learn, like how to use rock salt to simulate rust!

I agree with tug cowboy. I have a nice book published by Vallejo paints, it is on weathering techniques to produce wood effects. Apart from the poor translation of spanish to english, it is mostly photos of what the effect ends up like, when it really needs the technique describing much better.

To go with the Vallejo books , there's another which I have , but it's now really hard to get hold off AND the price will bring a tear to your eyes for a soft back book . Mrs turbo bought me it as a surprise present , it's full of absolutely stunning pictures

I see what you mean about the book price turbo :o I've been caught like that on amazon a couple of times. The last book I bought I paid £11.99 for, when it arrived its cover prices was £1.95! My sailing trawler hardback I paid £37 for it was published albeit a long time ago for 135shillings :} However should I want to re-sell that book it can be found on Amazon in excess of £150 :o :o
