Hi everybody
A newbie ... not because of my age (53) ...
A frenchie ... from Paris's surburb
But with huge interest in modeling for many years in many disciplines (electric helico, gas and electric offroad cars, fine modeling with plastic kits, and for 2 or 3 years, wood models with in parallel an Amati Arno XI and ... a BB Smit Nederland (recently began).
This last step is somewhere natural because I'm a woodworker for 10 years now.
So you know about everything O0
Read you soon

Welcome aboard Olivier - you can find a number of Smit Nederland postings on here - this one in particular you should find useful: http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,10387.0.html (http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,10387.0.html)
Looking forward to seeing your build on here if possible :-))
Regards,
Ray.

hello and welcome olivier :-))

Thank you Captain Podge
I noticed this beautiful work on the "revamped" Smit Nederland. Could be a target ... for some years :((

Bit Late but also Welcome to the Mayhem!
How far have you got with your Nederland? :-)
-
Thank you Martin
I am at the very beginning of the Smit Nederland ...
In fact, when I received the Billing Boats Smit Nederland, one plank of wood was missing (1315L).
Right now, BB didn't succeed to manage this issue... Fortunately, the parts of this sheet are quite simple (geometric). So I bought by myself a plank of 5mm "veneer" and reproduced the missing parts from the Building instruction leaflet.
At the end, the BB Building Instructions leaflet is quite "minimalistic" so I guess I will have questions to submit to this forum in order to build this Smit Nederland

You might want to replace that missing "plank of wood " with Plastic sheet...
I pick my kit up on Saturday, ebay job...!
-
No, I bought a 5mm multiply sheet and, from drawings in the building instruction leaflet, I cut missing parts. So everything is OK now (without help from BB ...)

Bonjour Omal, your English is good for a 'Frenchie' bon courage (good luck) with your BB Smit Nederland build ..... U2...... St Nazaire (ish)
