The tape holding the foresail on my Vela has separated and rather than replace the whole lot could I get away with gluing it back down and which glue should I use? Its only come away near the top due to being kept in the conservatory, which heats up these days. Lovely weather in Somerset.

Use sowing glue. Small smear on both sides let it go tacky then run an iron over it. Simples

This is a common problem with the standard Vela sail.
The original tape looks very much like ordinary packing tape.
Some transparent Blenderm tape might be one answer.
Thin double sided tape is another alternative if most of the luff is separated.

Hmmm sounds like the easy solution and its just one side of the sail and about 6-8" long to fix, honey! Where's the sowing(sp?) glue? :-))
When in doubt ask a Klunk.
