Title: Overloaded?
Post by: Brian60 on June 07, 2015, 02:29:04 pm
My friend posted this on facebook last night. They were about to set off for the Isle of Man ferry in Liverpool. I did comment on it being somewhat overloaded with the overhang at the back %% considering he and his wife are both 17 stone, but he said no problems he's done for bike rallies :o

Anyway it must be true because this morning he posted they had arrived at the quayside and were waiting to board the boat.....

That is a serious bike, so working on the principle he has full experience and control operating it, they should be alright.

I expect that most of the luggage will be his Wifes, while his stuff is rolled up in a pannier :o

Hmm doesnt look too bad, by little 250 used to get pretty well loaded with armour swords and tent when I used to do viking re-enactment, back in the day.

hopefully then if he got over to the Island today especially by lunch time he won't have missed any of the races, as the superstocks was postponed till today from lack of practice through the week, and yesterdays sidecars was cancelled because of strong winds.

so no "mad sunday"

The custom is not overloaded, just will handle like a bag of poo!
The amount of stuff I take on the bike bewilders some people. Transported my latest steam trawler home on the bike. Did get a few looks riding along with a 43 inch steam trawler strapped to the passenger seat but as the bike is my only transport I get used to it

A chap I know who lives in Pompey carries his wargames armies about on his motorcycle, it must be something about the place that makes Motorcyclists so resourceful:O)

Yeah overloaded is not a concept in Southeast Asia.

Hi Umi,
They are just "normal day in the office" around here.
Most days I think, "Na, can't be." but it is. Sometimes do quick weight calcs in my head, same resultant thought.
cheers

I think somebody has decided that by deferring the races from sat to sun, they can stop the 'Mad Sunday' mayhem of hundreds of bikers crashing into each other!
