Brand new Dutch build diesel electric fishing boat looking to reduce fuel use by 80%

I've put "new" in "" because although its using diesel electric for its drive train this is far from new on fishing boats , the first UK fishing boats to use diesel electric ( with exhaust heated steam boiler for a turbo generator ) were 4 distant water side trawlers fishing out of Hull back in the 1950's

^Andanes built 1950

Don't believe the rubbish put out by Greenpeace and the likes , the North Sea is full of Cod ( more than at anytime in the last 50 years ) , full of Haddocks and Whiting , plenty of fish in the North Sea just that the "science" ( used "" as it is NOT Science but "educated" guesswork , should know I worked at the Marine Lab in Aberdeen for 9 years... ) and quotas simply do not match the catches the boats are seeing

It looks more like some rich geezers motor yacht than a fishing boat.

I'd go along with that. It seems that quotas are induced by the EU on UK based fishing boats but are not observed by any of the european based ones.

Wish I had the skills to do the hull for a nice large scale build of that. I think it's a gorgeous looking thing.
