Title: 1:32nd Type 42 destroyer HMS Gloucester restoration
Post by: type82 on July 10, 2015, 07:33:17 pm
I went on Tuesday to pick up her from Francis in Devon and now starting a refurbishment program to get her fit again for the water even attempt another world record. She holds the record of 121miles travelled in 24Hrs which she did in 2002 and next year we are looking at attempting to cross the solent and back from Portsmouth to Ryde. Anyway we have started by stripping her superstructure of accessories to build new structures.

That is great going for a model. Some of my frineds find it diifficult to get their boat going on the bench by the pond without even getting it wet:O)

Good vid for pointy bit and sea dart detail.
As an added bonus, the missile does not really leave the vessel so it is in keeping with club rules Mark ;)

Cool burn-up - I used to have a SeaDart seeker head stood in the corner of my office many years ago.  That part was over 5' tall on its own.

I blame that misfire on the incorrect lighting of the blue touch paper by the designated Junior/MUPPET WE.
And yes, we did get the odd one fall for that windup
