Hi everyone, just a quick line or two to introduce myself. I'm Dave from Ipswich. Been messing about building bits and bobs since I was a boy, nothing of consequence then a a few years ago I started a scratch built one metre yacht and with the help of the local boat club (and Frank from Nylet) have just completed it.
I'm a complete novice at RC, electrics etc but aren't too bad with my hands. Now starting a Fairey Swordsman project. Look forward to talking to some of you.

Any picture of the new Yacht?

I didn't take a comprehensive photo log because I wasn't sure if or when I was going to finish it. But I've attached some photo's from last Sunday, it's Maiden voyage. There was hardly any wind but it all worked fine and didn't sink!!!
It's a plank on frame US1M, plans downloaded from the AMYA website. It's actually an Advance Mk1 with a remodelled transom ('cause I thought it looked better)
Earlier this year it was just a planked frame, rudder and keel. I needed something to spur me on so I joined the local model boat club which did the trick.
It's not perfect but it works. I've learned a lot and most importantly, enjoyed every minute of building it and turning a pile of wood and glue etc into something I think is gorgeous especially on the water.
